On Monday, January 30, we will begin a new, exciting adventure together called Companions in Christ.
Companions in Christ is a new blog-style devotional that seeks to help you connect with God through a simple and engaging daily reading plan through the New Testament. Accompanying each day's reading will be a brief devotional written by a member of the PRF community.
Join us and discover how God’s Word answers some of life's most-asked questions, including: What is the meaning of my life? What is the Lord’s will for me? Where is God in my suffering? How can I be a better person? Everyone has asked these questions, but not everyone knows how the Bible answers them. With the enduring message of God's truth as our backdrop, we'll share personal stories and insights with the aim of supporting and encouraging one another in our quest to know God.
The Companions devotional uses today’s technology to bring the timeless truths of Scripture to those of us seeking to develop a daily habit of reading the Bible. By signing up, you will be provided with a daily reading assignment (approximately one chapter a day Monday through Friday). The devotional's blog-style format will also allow you the opportunity to ask questions, comment on how Scripture is impacting your daily life, and encourage your friends in their walk with God.
To receive the daily devotionals via e-mail, just type in your e-mail address in the "Recieve Devotionals by E-mail" link on the right-hand column.
Looking forward to seeking God with you!
Devotional Tips:
Get the most out of the Companions in Christ - To get the most out of the Companions devotional, you are encouraged to...
- Read the assigned Bible passage for the day before you read the devotional. You can use your own Bible or open the link to the online Bible source, but don’t skip over the reading and go straight to the devotional. The most important aspect of the Companions devotional is daily time in the Word, so use the devotionals to supplement your reading, not to replace it.
- Talk about what you are reading and learning with your family, friends, and small group. You can also use the material for discussion in discipleship or mentoring relationships. Since we'll all be reading the same thing at the same time, we have a great opportunity to share what God is teaching us.
Quick Links to Daily Bible Passage - Did you know each Companions devotional also includes a link to the Bible passage for that day? Be sure to read the complete daily Bible passage before you begin reading the devotional. If you prefer, you can look up the passage in your own Bible. But don’t skip over the passage and jump straight to the devotional. Reading God’s Word is the most important part of the quest to know God.
Comment on Devotional - We’d like to know what you are thinking and experiencing as we read through the Word together. It’s easy to do: by clicking on the “Comment” link from the daily devotional page, you can post or just read comments by your fellow companions. The comments are a great way to share what God is teaching you and learn insights from others.
